My installation work has always been temporary and site-specific.  I am always on the look-out for spaces that inspire me emotionally and then I turn up the visual volume so others may experience the site in a new way.

In the outdoor work I respond to the givens -- especially the invisible elements:  the north-south, east-west axis, the arc of the sun, the light conditions, the wind patterns, human/animal traffic patterns and, of course, the topography and natural and man-made conditions.

In addition, I do extensive research into the history of the area and of the former inhabitants of the land.  The final choice of materials is dependent on what the site demands.
